First Showcase (Debut) Experience!

BoardGame had it’s official debut during the ASO Showcase. Dani, Eunsoo, Julie and I got on stage and performed “Don’t Recall” by K.A.R.D. It was our first time dancing in front of anyone other than ourselves. It was pretty nerve wracking for all of us, but we got through each performance. We performed during 3rd and 5th period and by the end of it all, relief washed over us. We were very proud of ourselves for doing something that was so far out of our comfort zone. For Julie and I, it was very stressful dancing to a kpop song. Kpop still hasn’t been fully accepted into American culture and we often get made fun of by friends and family for even listening to it. There was this extra pressure when performing on stage to show our classmates the beauty of what it could be. We didn’t expect to be cheered for during our performance, but during 5th period the crowd was very active. We really felt the crowd’s energy and it made us perform so much better. After the showcase, we were so proud of ourselves and couldn’t believe that all of hard work had paid off. It was definitely a learning opportunity and we all grew as dancers from this whole experience. We are all so grateful that we had the chance to do this together and we will never forget the amazing time we shared.
